Navcom Technician

Candidates applying for this position should have the following skills: 

1. Knowledge of GMDSS Equipment: Understanding the various types of GMDSS equipment, including VHF, MF/HF radios, EPIRBs, SARTs, and NAVTEX.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with international regulations and standards, such as SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and ITU (International Telecommunication Union) requirements.
3. Technical Inspection: Ability to perform detailed technical inspections of GMDSS installations, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and meets regulatory standards
4. Testing and Calibration: Proficiency in using test equipment to check the performance and calibration of GMDSS devices.
5. Fault Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with GMDSS equipment.

7. Safety Procedures: Understanding and implementing safety procedures during inspections and maintenance
8. Communication Skills: Effectively communicating findings and recommendations to ship operators and regulatory bodies.
