Job Summary
We’re hiring a skilled, hands-on Marine Electronics Technician to install, diagnose, maintain, and repair marine electronic systems across various vessels. You’ll work on navigation, communication, and onboard systems—often on-site, under real-world conditions—so strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail are essential.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Install, configure, and commission marine electronics such as GPS, chartplotters, radar, sonar/fishfinder, VHF/AIS, autopilot, NMEA networks, and related onboard systems.
Diagnose faults using systematic troubleshooting, test equipment, and manufacturer tools; perform repairs or replacements to a high standard.
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure reliability and compliance.
Produce clean wiring and labeling, proper cable routing, waterproofing, corrosion protection, and safe terminations.
Coordinate with operations/yard teams to ensure smooth integration with power systems, sensors, and vessel layouts.
Provide clear handover to customers: basic operation, best practices, and maintenance guidance.
Document work completed (service reports, test results, photos when needed) and update parts usage / inventory notes.
Follow safety procedures and marine industry standards at all times.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
Diploma/technical certification in marine electronics, electrical/electronics, or similar (preferred).
Proven experience in marine electronics installation and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of:
12/24V DC systems, grounding, fusing, load calculation
NMEA 0183 / NMEA 2000, networking basics, sensor integration
Common marine equipment: GPS/plotters, radar, sonar, VHF/AIS, autopilot, audio systems
Comfortable using diagnostic tools (multimeter, clamp meter, testers) and configuration software.
Strong problem-solving mindset, neat workmanship, and high attention to detail.
Able to work independently and within a team, with professional customer communication.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
Physical & Field Requirements
Able to lift and carry equipment (up to 25 kg) and work in confined spaces.
Comfortable working on vessels, docks, and yards in varying weather conditions.
